Metro Baptist Church
Metro Christian Academy is a Ministry of Metro Baptist Church. The school was started as a ministry to church members and opened up to members of the community. Metro Baptist Church was founded July 4, 1976. The church first met in a bank building, then moved to the victorian house on Neely's Bend Road. When that location was too small, a church building was built just behind the Victorian house and soon there was an educational buildinng to follow. The church continued to grow and in 1985 a gym and classroom space was added to the Neely's Bend location. Several sports fields also enhanced the property. In March 1992, Pastor Phil Martin moved his family from California to Nashville and he became the second Pastor of Metro Baptist Church. As the church continued to grow, it became evident there was not enough land to build an auditorium and the traffic on Neely's Bend would not support much more growth. The church moved to Goodlettsville in a new auditorium leaving the facilities in Madison for the school to use entirely. The church voted to sell the Madison property and move the school to the church property in 2010 and 2011. The school made the move in June of 2011 into temporary rooms inside the church. The school/Sunday school building was completed in the spring of 2012 and the school moved into its new home on the church campus in Goodlettsville.
